Change inputs and assumptions ↓ Cash received after the upfront fee $9,500.00 Includes only the fee entered here. The cash-flow rate is a mathematical comparison, not a lender-disclosed APR. - **Monthly loan payment**: $322.67 - **Interest plus entered fee**: $2,116.19 - **Annualized cash-flow rate**: 13.56% Source: Entered terms and monthly amortization. Starting values are illustrative. ## Follow the fee through the loan **USD; only the entered fee and fixed monthly payments** | Amount before the fee | $10,000.00 | | --- | --- | | Entered fee | $500.00 | | Opening debt | $10,000.00 | | Loan proceeds delivered | $9,500.00 | | Separate fee paid now | $0.00 | | Net cash received at origination | $9,500.00 | | Monthly loan payment | $322.67 | | Interest over the term | $1,616.19 | | Payments plus separate upfront fee | $11,616.19 | | Total borrowing cost | $2,116.19 | A 5% fee is calculated on the $10,000.00 amount before the fee. Deduction reduces proceeds; financing increases debt; paying separately reduces net funds at origination. The calculator does not increase the requested amount to target a particular net payout. [Download submitted CSV](https://theloanweek.com/calculator/personal-loan-fees/?amount=10000&rate=10&months=36&fee_pct=5&fee_method=deducted&format=csv) The CSV includes entered assumptions and monthly amounts. Copying a scenario URL shares its inputs. Query values can remain in browser history and hosting logs; this page does not send them to analytics. ## Method and limits The monthly payment amortizes the opening debt at the entered note rate. Total borrowing cost is all repayments plus a separately paid fee minus proceeds received. The annualized cash-flow rate solves for the monthly rate at which scheduled payments have a present value equal to net funds received, then multiplies that rate by 12. It is not an effective compounded annual yield or a certified regulatory APR. A lender's APR may include different required charges and timing conventions. Use the lender's disclosures when comparing real offers. Fees applied to the final financed face amount, irregular dates, daily interest, late fees and optional products require a different model. No. Defaults illustrate the method. Enter your own quote and check its loan disclosures. Eligibility and approval are not modeled. ### Why can a lower payment cost more? Extending repayment can leave more debt at the comparison horizon and add interest over the full term. Review both balances and total costs. ### What is excluded? Taxes, insurance, escrow, cash-out proceeds, investment returns, variable rates, daily-interest timing, skipped payments and any fee not entered. This is not a complete ownership budget. ### Are my inputs saved? The form uses a URL query. Inputs can remain in your browser history and hosting logs. Scenario pages omit analytics and use private, no-store responses; copying a scenario URL shares its inputs. ## Sources - [CFPB: personal installment loan fees](https://www.consumerfinance.gov/ask-cfpb/do-personal-installment-loans-have-fees-en-2120/).
