About Loanweek
Loanweek answers one question per page: what would the payment be? Each page states the monthly payment at the latest published average rate, the interest it costs over the life of the loan, and every month of the schedule.

How the numbers are made
- Mortgage rates are Freddie Mac's weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey averages, read from the St. Louis Fed's FRED service every week.
- Car and personal loan rates are the Federal Reserve's G.19 averages at commercial banks; credit-tier rates come from Experian's quarterly State of the Automotive Finance Market report.
- Student loan rates are the fixed federal rates set each year by the Department of Education.
- Payments use the standard fixed-rate amortization formula; the schedule is computed month by month and matches it to the cent.

What we don't do
We don't make loans, take applications or collect your financial details. Averages are not offers; the rate a lender quotes depends on credit, down payment and the lender.
